What a copy needs to do

  • Read active and canceled subscriptions from one Stripe account
  • Compute MRR, active subscribers and churn for the last 30 days
  • List new and canceled subscriptions since yesterday
  • Save a daily snapshot and chart MRR over time
  • Set a monthly MRR goal and show progress toward it
  • Email a summary every morning

How to build it yourself

  1. The Stripe list subscriptions endpoint filters by status and can return canceled subscriptions.2
  2. Each subscription lists its items, and each item carries a price.3
  3. A canceled subscription records its cancellation time in canceled_at, which gives churn for a period.3
  4. A Vercel Cron Job calls the app's snapshot route every morning on a cron expression.4
  5. Each run stores the day's figures as a file in Vercel Blob for the chart.5
  6. The Gmail API then sends the summary from the buyer's own mailbox.6
  7. Composio holds the buyer's Stripe and Gmail connections with managed authentication.7

What a copy leaves out

  • Forecasts, benchmarks and scenario planning
  • Failed payment recovery and cancellation surveys
  • Customer data enrichment
  • Billing sources other than Stripe
